Off a visititing…
By Veronique Christensen — Tuesday, December 19th, 2006The kids are home from school for the next few weeks. If yesterday was any indication, I probably won’t be posting quite as often as usual. I thought it would be nice to share a list of the sites I’ve been visiting.
StumbleUpon :: you have to download this one, but it’s worth it to discover new sites that other users have recommended {I’ll admit I find the community side of this a bit peculiar… maybe I just don’t get it}
Flickr :: Photo sharing with so many pathways to follow, and inspiration to be drawn. So much talent and creativity. You’ll find Tomas’ and my pictures here.
Wists :: Claire at Loobylu pointed this social shopping site out recently and I’m addicted to seeing what other people post. Loads of beautiful (and odd) things to look at. You’ll find my wists here. {these are things that I like to look at, or might want to make, not necessarily things I really want}
atelier v. :: New uses for ordinary things. I’ll be using the chopstick idea for my sushi-loving kiddos.
Pandora :: Great site that creates a radio station for you based on a song or artist. I find I’m prone to playing the same handful of artists off of iTunes, and it’s good to expand my horizons a bit. I’ve been listening to "Bebel Gilberto" and "Stan Getz" — in quotes because they rarely actually get played
Del.icio.us :: The ultimate social link sharing site. If you are interested in blogs, web development, publishing, crafts, marketing, cooperation, community… you’ll find my links here.
LinkedIn :: I’ve discovered that staying home with the kids is a much more expensive proposition than all my spreadsheets indicated before I took the plunge in September (the holidays could have something to do with that!). I’ve used LinkedIn for a few years now to keep in touch with friends, and business contacts. I keep this one on the back-burner, but up-to-date, just-in-case. You’ll find my professional profile here.

Pandora just turned on some “community” services, so that you can post a profile and share your favorite stations with others. See e.g. http://www.pandora.com/people/edward.vielmetti
It’s just wrong to taunt a widget junkie like that! I’ve added you to my Pandora contacts and added the widget to my sidebar
Like you I’m also confused by StumbleUpon’s community features! I added you to my delicious network
I’m also on LinkedIn but haven’t used it in ages
